Wilshere didn’t make the cut for England and turned to Twitter, so did his fans
An unusual message confirmed Wilshere’s rejection to form part of the England squad, as he tweeted about a trip to Greece. Wilshere interacted with a person who invited him on a trip to Zante with ‘the lads’. He playfully accepted the offer implying he will be free. He said; “Let me know the dates and I’m in,” adding; “can I bring the baby as well?”
Wilshere has not appeared for England since 2016 but appeared to be hopeful for Russia – up until now. A series of late-season knocks have convinced manager Gareth Southgate to look elsewhere.
England’s first match is against Tunisia on Monday 18th June.
