Who will scoop up Jordi Alba?

Man United Want Jordi Alba

It has surfaced that Manchester United are looking to scoop Jordi Alba, Cristiano Ronaldo and Willian. And, it will be a battle for the Barcelona defender Jordi Alba, reports the Daily Express, as Tottenham and Chelsea have also shown interest. According to Spanish paper AS, United are exploring a deal for Alba, who has a £52.5m release clause inserted into his contract which expires in 2020.

Despite making 48 appearances for Barcelona last season, the Spaniard has been linked with a move to north London – but the 29-year-old has made it clear he has no desire to leave the current La Liga champions.

The left-back has dismissed the speculation linking him with the move to Tottenham, insisting he has no desire to leave the Camp Nou this summer, so it there is also uncertainty around Manchester.

Alba is currently on duty for Spain at the World Cup, and has spent the last six seasons at Barcelona after joining from Valencia in 2012.

The star, currently on duty with La Roja, told a news conference after being quizzed on whether the interest was affecting him: “No, no, I’m very good at Barca.
“If it were up to me, I would stay at Barcelona all my life.“But it does not depend on me but on what the club wants. It also depends on my performance, which this season has been very good, but I do not see myself outside of Barcelona.”

Jordi Alba, regarded as one of the most important players at Camp Nou helped his country to victory over Iran on Wednesday night and also started their first World Cup group match against Portugal. The ace is likely to start again for Spain against Morocco on Monday.
